A Capitol resident by birth, Kaeso has always wanted nothing more than to lead. Not a fan of the segregation of the 13 Districts, he grew up with what one might call an insatiable appetite for knowledge. If it had anything to do with Panem’s history, he wanted to know everything about it. At the age of 25, he began preparing a campaign as the elections were coming up and he was finally eligible to run. Winning the heart of the population with the new ideas that he brought to the table, Kaeso won the title of Panem President by a landslide. Only months after though, came the District 13 rebellion. Forced into a corner, the actions of that event changed him and he became almost cruel as his loyalty to the Capitol was questioned by those who sought to replace him. Unwilling to give up his title to power, Kaeso thought up a rather interesting solution: The Hunger Games.

Though she was the firstborn daughter, the fact that she quickly became an older sister to twin boys and a sickly girl meant that Artemis wasn’t exactly given the attention that she deserved as a child. It was because of this that she developed into a rather bratty and self-absorbed little girl who was willing to do anything and everything to earn the attention of her parents. Wanting nothing more than to be loved, she made the lives of every nurse her parents hired a living hell as she didn’t want a replacement. Unable to reign her attitude in, they finally sent her to live with her uncle who was a government official. Though he loved her dearly, he was determined to set her attitude straight and did so by giving her a position as an intern in his department. During and after the elections, she was kept so busy that there was almost no time in her days for that harsh sarcasm as the minute she got home was the minute she headed to sleep for the night. Then came the Rebellion, and because of it the Hunger Games were born. Hating the Districts for the stress that they’d put the Capitol under by their stupidity, she begged her uncle to let her help with something after he was offered the position of Head Gamemaker. Unable to turn her down, he named her Head Escort and that’s where her story begins.

Not quite from the same side of the tracks as most of the other officials with which he works on a daily basis, Caius was raised in a rather dysfunctional home. A submissive mother and overbearing father caused him to sink inside himself for days at a time. It was only when he began working for the Capitol that the young man was able to begin coming out of his shell around others. Still, his life experiences had changed him in more ways than one, even twisting his mind's eye and perception to make it slightly more warped than was usual even for the Capitol residents. Surprised when his sister chose to send his oldest niece to live with him, Caius didn't really see another option and allowed it. Keeping her busy with work in his office, he became a little worried when the Rebellion began. However, the way she handled it all impressed him and so, after he graciously accepted the offer of being the Head Gamemaker of the First Annual Hunger Games, he allowed her the privilege of representing the Capitol to those in the Districts.

Born to a couple older than what was considered the norm for childbirth in the Districts, William was a blessing to the couple who had been trying for years to have a child only to have given up some months before. Overjoyed when they learned it was going to happen, the blissful parents began setting aside every bit of money they could afford to spare so that they might be able to give their son the best that they could afford. It wasn't much, but little William was a generally happy child simply because of the love he received from his parents. At the age of 18, he began working at one of the nuclear plants that 13 was known for. It was there that he met and instantly fell in love with Kathleen. Sadly, the loss of both his parents to illness the year before had taken up what little he'd saved over the years and he couldn't afford even the simplest of weddings. However, the fact that she was willing to wait made it all worth it and they were finally married when he was 20 and she 18. Shocked by how quickly she conceived, they welcomed first Jackson and then Anya and Corrigan into their family. A happy family, everything changed with the Rebellion. Before they knew it, their world had come crashing down around them. Luck was shining their way though, when the Capitol decided to spare a single family and they were chosen. However, everyone is still on edge and so they have been split up to lessen the chances of another Uprising happening again. Because of this, he now lives in District 4 with his only daughter Anya.

Kathleen possessed about as normal a childhood as was possible for those in the Districts. The youngest of 3 children, she followed her two older brothers into the trade that was the usual for those who resided in District 13; the working one of the many nuclear plants that comprised the majority of free land. Surprisingly young when she first started her training(only 16), it was there that she met William; who was the man designated to train her in her specialty. The two hit it off instantly and a love quickly grew between them. So entranced was she with the older boy that she didn't hesitate in the slightest in choosing to wait for him to save up enough so that they could get married. Nearly inseparable from one another, it came as no real shock that the two were wed so young. Their hearts were filled with even more happiness, however, when she learned that she was carrying their first child. Over the next 5 years, she gave birth to two boys and a little girl without any noticeable complications, something almost unheard with all the health issues that occurred in the poorer Districts. Opting immediately to remain at home with them, she adopted the role of mother with a grandeur most would never think possible for one so young. Scared for her family's lives when the Rebellion began, Kathleen prayed every night that they would find a way out of the horrors happening around them. Someone must have been listening though, as the Capitol took pity on them when deciding to spare a single family's lives to show that they still believed in Panem as a whole. Still, separation was the only way that they could survive and so she now lives in District 8 with her youngest son, unsure of anything and trying to be strong in spite of her worrying about what is going on with her husband and other two children.

The firstborn son of the Kauhfman-Moriarty union, Jackson was surprisingly healthy for being such a small weight at birth. That aside, he was all smiles and happiness from the time he was an infant. Always bursting with energy, it was sometimes hard for even Kathleen to keep up with her son despite her 'youth' as she'd only had him at the age of 19. His life only seemed to improve with the birth of his little sister when he was three, followed by a little brother two years later. Instantly assuming the position of protective older brother, Jackson preferred helping his parents with Anya and Corrigan far more than playing with whatever kids lived nearby. Always looking out for his younger siblings, the oldest Moriarty boy began working at at a fairly young age as well so that his brother and sister might be able to have a little more. The Rebellion hit him incredibly hard though, as he feared(not for his own life) but for those of his parents and siblings. Despite the fact that he was overjoyed when they were chosen by the Capitol out of all the District 13 families to live, Jackson was horrified to learn that the government intended to split them up. Still, he was strong for Anya and Corrigan despite the fact that he was devastated that he was to be sent to District 12 alone because of his age while his brother and sister were divided between their parents. He chooses to trust the Capitol's decision though, and is is careful to keep his nose squeaky clean as he hopes that he'll be reunited with the rest of his family eventually.

Born the middle child between her two brothers, Anya always held a special place in her parents' hearts. Though she was offered no special treatment as a child, it was obvious by how close she and her father were from the start that she loved and adored him. Kathleen and William began to worry, however, when she didn't start speaking at the age that was normal for children. It was even more confusing to them that she barely said a word and yet seemed to learn new things at an astonishing rate. They wanted her to be her own person though, and so supported Anya in everything that she did even if she didn't really talk. As she got older, words became more and more a part of her life but she was always the quiet child - preferring to simply appreciate the presence of her family rather than actively emerge herself into the conversations that made up their family dynamic. Despite all that, she did have quite the commanding ability when she did make herself heard; which wasn't too often. Sadly, the Rebellion only caused her to withdraw further into her shell. Though it came as a relief that she wasn't going to die, the idea of being separated from those she cared for more than anything else nearly shattered her heart. Now, Anya knows nothing of her mom and brothers as the only contact she still has is with her father whom she lives with in District 4.

Being the youngest child of Kathleen and William Moriarty, Corrigan was definitely spoiled by both his parents. Born with infant anemia, he required extra attention to ensure that nothing happened to make him take a turn for the worse. Wanting their youngest child to feel as normal as possible, the two parents gave him a little more of everything in the hopes that he might feel like just another child. Unfortunately, that extra attention and 'special treatment' didn't quite have the desired effect as it simply taught him from an incredibly young age that he could basically do whatever he wanted and get away with it. When whispers began surfacing about the Rebellion, Corrigan was more intrigued than you could possibly imagine. It was only the thought of what could happen to his family if he was discovered that kept him from joining the cause. Still, the desire to do so made him slightly sullen and more irritable than was usual even for him. When the event finally happened, however, he was grateful for his lack of participation as the knowledge that they would all be dead if he had become involved weighed heavily on his heart. That being said, he was outraged when his parents told him that they were being separated as a condition of the Capitol choosing them to survive. Now, he lives in District 8 with his mom. Determined not to sit back this time, he's secretly been trying to get people together for another Uprising without his mother's knowledge. Everyone seems too scared to move against the Capitol right now, but who knows? People's hearts can always change.
