ARTEMIS ALYPIA AYRES
PANEM CITIZENSHIP PAPERS
PANEM CITIZENSHIP PAPERS
A. FULL NAME: Artemis Alypia Ayres
Ai. NICKNAMES: Ayre, Aly, etc (mostly only used by those close to her)
Aii. NAME MEANINGS: Rich and prosperous Goddess of the Moon/Hunt
B. AGE: 20
Bi. DATE OF BIRTH: October 17th
C. GENDER: Female
Ci. ORIENTATION: Pansexual
D. DISTRICT: Capitol
A. FACE CLAIM: Kerli Koiv
Ai. BODY TYPE:Artemis is naturally very tall and slim, possessing legs for miles you might say. Standing at 5'10" and weighing only 115lbs, she is the kind of woman that veryone wishes they could be. She has a rather small bone structure but the completely natural curves that she possesses in all the right places allow her to look the age that she is. Because of her body type, people might think that she's easy to overpower but I wouldn't try anything if I were you. *cough*
Aii. HAIR COLOR:Her natural hair color is a pale blonde but she tends to dye it excessively to keep up with all of the newest fashion trends. It's been almost every color possible already, her current choice being a pale silver that brings out her ivory complexion.
Aiii. EYE COLOR: Grey with flecks of Blue
Aiv. DISTINGUISING FEATURES:Artemis is definitely not against the body modifications, to say the least. Over her right eye and underneath her perfectly shaped eyebrows are three diamond stud piercings(although implants might be the better word for them). She also has her labret pierced as well as her belly button although the latter isn't seen nearly as often as those present on her face for obvious reasons. As far as tattoos are concerned, she has only one and that is of a wilting black rose that wraps around her left hip. For her the marking is sentimental, representing the death of any and all that try and oppose the Capitol.
A. PERSONALITY:Artemis is what one might consider a naturally dark soul. The events of her lives have shaped her into the woman that she is today: cruel, vain, and definitely not all there as far as mental stability is concerned. Possessing an intense hatred for anything and everything having to do with the Districts, she believes it's her job to make their lives a living hell after the whole 'Rebellion' incident. After all, the idiotic citizens of District 13 had attempted to ruin everything she loved about her life. Granted, the fact that she can hold a grudge like no other isn't helping them but hey...how else is she supposed to feel? Naturally eccentric, she also has a tendency of rubbing people the wrong way as she can be quite blunt and is more than willing to speak her mind should she feel it necessary.
Though she was happy when younger, her most basic nature became incredibly warped and twisted during the first few years of her life by the inattentiveness of her parents as she gained three younger siblings in just under two years. The fact that she spent the majority of her childhood being cared for by numerous Avoxes(as her horrible temper-tantrums caused an almost constant flow of fresh faces into the Ayres home) caused her to develop the mentality that she could walk all over anyone if she so desired. It's because of this that she now believes she can do whatever it takes to get things done without fear of any consequences. Though she might be labeled weird by some because of her strange perception, she has the ability to turn on her charm in a split-second should the situation call for it.
Despite the fact that Artemis is slightly immature for her age, she is able to distinguish when she needs to be professional without issue. She is extremely selfish and self-centered though, which plays a rather extensive role when considering how she views others. Believing herself to be more important than most, she won't hesitate in the slightest to step on anyone who gets in the way of her achieving her goals. Her focus and dedication to the cause is seemingly unmatched by any except for her Uncle Caius and the Snows themselves. Still, she definitely has both a temper and quite the mouth. Her intense hatred for the Districts and anyone who supports them is her biggest trigger and something that has gotten her into trouble on one or two occasions. Her one form of relief is time spent with her uncle, who she cares for more than anyone else in the world. She can act slightly demented at times, but who isn't these days? After all, she believes it's far better to live in the moment than to worry about what lies ahead.

B. HISTORY:Oh...where to begin? Well, I guess that it would be best to start at the beginning. The union of Apollo Ayres and Andromeda Normandy was an unusual one, to say the least. Though both were Capitol residents with excellent connections and the like, none could understand the attraction that each saw in the other given their such different lifestyles. While Apollo was employed as a protector for the President of Panem, Andromeda lived in the highest social circle and headed a surprisingly profitable line of clothing. That didn't matter to the couple though, as their nuptials were mainly to cover up their biggest secret: the fact that Andromeda was with child. Planning the extravagant occasion in what most would consider to be a record-setting time, they were happily married within a month of her conception. Grateful that none seemed to notice, the newlyweds claimed that her pregnancy was a result of their exclusive honeymoon instead of the truth which would destroy both of their reputations beyond repair.
The rest of Andromeda's gestational period passed without issue as she was more than able to take time off from her business to relax as she didn't want to risk overworking herself. It was in the early morning hours of October 17th that the blissful couple welcomed their first child into the world. Surprised by the white blonde wisps of hair covering her head, Apollo happened to look out the window of their large residence and instantly thought of her as he noticed the moon. Mentioning this to his wife, they decided upon the name Artemis within minutes of the infant being born. Though they were slightly worried about the fact that she was slightly underweight for a full-term child, that detail quickly worked to their advantage as their tale of Andromeda conceiving later than she actually had would mean that Artemis had arrived a month early. Still, they were far more protective of the newborn than most would expect, given their otherwise busy lives and the importance of the positions that they held.
Even from birth, it was obvious that Artemis was extremely smart. Unlike other infants, she was able to focus on the faces of her parents within days of entering this world. That, and the huge smile that overcame her features upon being held or otherwise attended to left no doubts to anyone with a brain that she was naturally gifted in the intelligence department. Spoiled from the get-go, she was clothed in the finest fabrics and treated like utter royalty by her parents. However, fate would soon be so very cruel to her. Unaware of how easily it was for her to conceive so soon after giving birth, Apollo and Andromeda were shocked to learn that she was again pregnant only three months after Artemis' birth. That being said, they couldn't have been happier with the idea of having another child. Having adopted the lifestyle of parenthood in what most would describe as a 'blink of an eye', the couple was overjoyed when they learned that yet another addition to their already blissful family was on its way.
It did come as quite a shock, however, when Andromeda and Apollo learned that they weren't expecting one child...but two. Still, the knowledge didn't put the slightest dent in their level of happiness. If anything, it only made their hearts swell in size as they couldn't believe how such good fortune had managed to shine their way. Unfortunately, the future wouldn't be so bright for baby Artemis. With the arrival of twin boys Atticus and Amicus, she was handed off to one of the many Avoxes that served the Ayres family as the once again new parents had more than enough on their plate with work and two newborns as well as a one-year-old. Already walking and talking by then, the toddler often spent hours on end crying for her parents. It was to no avail though, as they were too busy taking care of her younger brothers to be bothered now that she had been weaned. If only they knew the damage that was being caused by their inattentiveness, Apollo and Andromeda might have acted differently towards their first daughter. Having been spoiled for the first year of her life, Artemis didn't understand the feeling of being abandoned which only made her act out with the subconscious hope that her parents would pay attention to her again.
The next year brought yet another addition to the Ayres family with the birth of another girl; Aeliana. It was obvious by this point that there was no real chance of Artemis reclaiming the spotlight in the eyes of her parents. The only issue with this was that, at only two years old, she neither realized nor understood that. All she knew was that her mother and father didn't seem to care when all she wanted was the love and affection that she'd once received constantly from them. Because of this, her temper-tantrums only grew in both their frequency and intensity. Quickly becoming known as a 'wild child' by all that came in contact with her, the toddler seemed to go through Avoxes more quickly than an alcoholic went through their liquor supply. Though she was given whatever she could possibly want thanks to Apollo and Andromeda's financial stability, material objects didn't come close to the attention and love she so desired. To be honest, the infinite gifts that she received from her parents did nothing more than teach the young girl that she could get whatever she wanted simply by acting up; something she would never forget. This little lesson did nothing more than help mold her into the vain and self-absorbed woman that she would eventually become as she grew older.
It was on Artemis' fifth birthday that the unthinkable happened. Surprised by her father's seemingly out-of-the-blue decision to throw her the most extravagant of birthday parties, the small girl was ecstatic at the thought that she might finally be winning her parents(or one of them anyways) back. After being dressed in an exquisite dress that had been hand-designed by her mother, Artemis came downstairs only to have all her hopes crushed when she found the party room was completely empty despite the hundred invitations that had been sent out to all families with children her age. Because of the reputation that she'd earned as a 'demon child' due to her extensive temper-tantrums, none of the parents would dare allow their kids to attend for fear that her habits would rub off on them. After crying her eyes out for what seemed like hours in her room, she went wide-eyed when Apollo came to comfort her. Only, his idea of comforting his daughter was, in reality, horrific and inhumane as he chose to molest her that night instead of simply hugging or holding her. She didn't know what was going on though, and reveled in the attention as his whispers to her assured the small girl that everything was okay. Though Artemis was confused a bit when he said that she couldn't tell anyone of this because it was their secret, she didn't question his words for even a second.
Instead, she did whatever he asked in the hopes that her compliance would keep her father around. At such a young age, she didn't know any better and simply believed that any attention was better than none at all. It was actually because of the promise she'd made to her father that night that kept anyone and everyone from learning the knowledge of what was going on on behind closed doors. The abuse went on for 10 years without anyone(including all residing in the Ayres home) noticing that such events were happening every single night because of how Apollo portrayed himself to the rest of the world. Pretending as if he was the same man he'd always been, kind and caring, he left Artemis to continue being raised by the Avoxes as he didn't want to arise any suspicion of what was occurring between him and his daughter. Most that knew him would have nominated the man without a moment's hesitation for the 'Father of the Year' award if such a thing existed and that only made things worse. Meanwhile, Artemis grew into a young women driven by nothing more than her bitchiness and need to be in the spotlight constantly. Selfish and vain didn't even begin to describe her anymore as she'd long surpassed such labels only to have graduated to a whole new level of conceitedness that didn't even have a proper name.
Completely oblivious to everything that was going on between her husband and daughter as work was keeping her away for days at a time, Andromeda only noticed that Artemis was becoming more and more out of control with each passing day. The ferocious argument that occurred on her 16th birthday seemed to be the final straw, however, as she finally realized that there was no reasoning with her oldest child as the years of neglect and inattentiveness had left their mark on the very core of Artemis' personality; making her absolutely horrid and unreachable as far as authority was concerned. Believing that a change might be just what she needed, Andromeda went to the only person she had left in the world for advice: her older brother Caius. Praying that he would have some insight with all the years he'd spent offering counsel to the President of Panem, she soon suggested that Artemis come to live with him for a while in the hopes that a change in lifestyle might provide her with a much needed reality check. As he didn't want to risk being found out, Apollo supported his wife's decision completely. After all, he couldn't afford to risk anyone learning of what he'd done to his daughter. Should his actions become public knowledge, he had no doubt whatsoever that he would be shunned by both his family and the rest of the Capitol for the rest of his life; something that he couldn't afford.
Because of this, he raised no argument and so Artemis was sent to live with her uncle immediately. Feeling betrayed by the one person she believed to truly care about her, Artemis lashed out at the world with such an intensity that most would believe wasn't possible. Caius would have none of it though, as he wasn't the type to let bad choices go without punishment, and so he began the tedious task of straightening out the mess that was his oldest niece. Believing that hard work would do her some good, he instantly made arrangements for her to begin working as an intern in his department of the Capitol's government. Though she hated the idea at first, she relished the fact that he didn't practically ignore her in the way that her parents always had and so she grudgingly agreed to the job. This also quickly earned her uncle a special place in her heart as she eventually viewed him as the one person that actually understood the twisted creature that years of being neglected had transformed her into. Developing a sense of adoration for Caius, the emotions quickly shifted to something far more personal and not nearly as innocent. She had grown to love him in a way that was frowned upon by all of society. Unsure of what to do about the feelings she held for her uncle as her father's words about secrecy resounded in her head, she chose simply to bury them until such a time arose that she felt it safe to reveal them to Caius.
The next two years passed fairly quickly and without event as she was kept so busy helping with the elections that she barely had time for anything else; especially being the brat that she'd been her entire life. Forced to mature in almost every way, she finally grew into the well-mannered girl that everyone had always expected her to be. That being said, she still retained the darker side of her personality. It was just less noticeable than before as her position required her to be more respectful and professional than she'd ever had to be before. Even more shocked than most when the Rebellion occurred, she was thrust into the middle of the chaos that enveloped Panem's government as they were forced into taking action against those who had decided to oppose them. Instantly developing a hatred for those that threatened her way of life, Artemis was honestly overjoyed when she heard that the entirety of District 13 had been wiped off the face of the Earth. It didn't matter to her that it had only happened because they had been left with no other options. All she cared about was that the scum who thought themselves better than everyone else didn't make it out alive. Of course, she was even happier when the idea of the Hunger Games was brought to the table; something she supported with all her heart.
That being said, Artemis was slightly surprised when she learned that they were indeed going to go through with it. Above all else though, she was excited more than ever as she viewed the deadly tournament as the perfect punishment/reminder to the other Districts of what could happen if they should choose to oppose the Capitol as well. Still, the icing on the cake came when she learned that Caius had been offered the position of Head Gamemaker for the first Annual Hunger Games ever to occur in the history of Panem. Encouraging her uncle to accept the position, she literally screamed when he came home one day to inform her that he had indeed taken the job. Wanting so badly to be a part of the new yearly tradition that would surely cause the Districts a heartache even they had never known before, Artemis begged her uncle to no end that he would employ her in some way; no matter how big or small. Believing her to be the best for the role, not to mention the fact that he couldn't find it in his heart to turn her down, Caius offered his niece the position of Head Escort for the selection of the tributes. After having the position explained to her, Artemis immediately fell in love with the idea of the job and accepted it immediately. Now, she is being trained and otherwise prepared for the extensive trip to each of the Twelve Districts - something she knows she will never forget.
